Mowgli might be returning to where he belongs in the newest look at Disney’s live-action “The Jungle Book” movie, a TV spot that debuted on Sunday.
“I know he’s special,” says the panther Bagheera, voiced by Ben Kingsley, of Mowgli in the spot. “I raised him, and now I’ll return him to where he belongs.”
Could this mean that Mowgli is returning to human civilization? The teaser shows footage of Mowgli running through what seems to be his natural habitat, dodging from tigers and sprinting alongside wolves.
Newcomer Neel Sethi stars as Mowgli in an A-list cast that includes Idris Elba as Shere Khan, Scarlett Johansson as Kaa, Bill Murray as Baloo, Lupita Nyong’o as Raksha, Giancarlo Esposito as Akela and Christopher Walken as King Louie. Jon Favreau is directing the latest adaptation of Rudyard Kipling’s classic children’s adventures books.
The first nearly two-minute trailer for the movie dropped this past September, ahead of a big Super Bowl TV spot that debuted earlier this month. Though the actual trailer didn’t air during the Big Game, a teaser for the full clip did, prompting viewers to go online to see the entire trailer.
