Twilight
Love could not get more complicated than a girl falling for a vampire who craves for her blood. Based on the bestselling novel by Stephanie Mayer, Twilight is not just a love story; it is a twisted tale of beauty and the retrained beast.
Bella Swan relocated to Washington to her father and becomes the ‘shiny toy’ every guy wants save for one, but he is not a regular boy. Camouflaging as a 17 year old, Edward Cullen is the vampire next door trying not to be the blood-sucking monster by adopting vegetarianism, i.e. feeding on animal blood. The story is about Bella’s lack of self-preservation and Edward’s masochism. This forbidden love story takes a new twist when enters the not-so-good sadistic vampire James who vows to kill Bella.
In the movie, Bella was played by Kristen Stewart, star of many top 10 movies and British actor Robert Pattinson, became the on-screen vampire. Pattinson, who also played a small part in one of the Harry Potter movies, did not stand up to the expectations. Portraying the same expression, he stood tall and looked pretty. Stewart was no different on the screen; safe to say that the two suited each other. As for the other characters, Billy Burke, star of many top rated movies, who brought the character of Bella’s father Chief Swan to the audience did a commendable job. Peter Facinelli and Taylor Lautner were also appreciated for their parts in the movie as Dr. Carlisle Cullen and Jacob Black respectively. Nonetheless, the movie, soon to be among the top movies, is a super hit among the teenagers who are awestruck by the magic of the forbidden love. Stephanie Mayer gets all the credit for the success of the movie because it is just the story that stands out with the youth- rational or not. There is definitely some action – a fight scene between James and Edward, accidents and climbing trees and a fascinating ball game. Just the thunder ball is worth watching Twilight, besides Robert Pattinson of course.
The music, as in all top rated movies, in the movie is yet another factor hooking the audiences. From “Full Moon” by The Black Ghosts, who have composed for some of the top movies, to the romantic prom number “Flightless Bird, American Mouth” by Iron and Wine keeps the flow of the movie. The musical actor Robert Pattinson compiled and sang “Never Think” for the movie. Bella’s Lullaby which was also a dominating point in the book is a soft melody touching hearts of everyone.
