Why do people bother to make full CGI movies when there are actors to do the acting? I am babbling about the full CGI movie entitled Beowulf, starring the voices of Angelina Jolie, & Anthony Hopkins to name the least. Whatever the reason for the full CGI decision, I think Angelina Jolie & Anthony Hopkins looks way much better in real life. Nonetheless, the two famous actor & actress have their images embodied in the Beowulf CGI movie. I suppose more Beowulf video game endorsements are coming for both of them too in the future.
Beowulf is the best CGI (Computer generated imagery) full animation movie to date. The story of Beowulf starts in Denmark in around 502 a.d where a king stands merry with his subjects & his riches in a great hall up to until a giant of a monster, ugly as heck, twice as tall as the tallest man with burned skin, intrudes on the party & kills many of the King’s people. Straight into the thick of the action is the Beowulf movie.
The strange thing is that the monster, named Grendell does not kill the King Hrothgar (Anthony Hopkins) in the Beowulf movie. The monster only shouts at him & then goes away. The king & his people need a hero to destroy the monster. Beowulf knows of the news & comes to kill the “MonSTARrr”as he says it! Beowolf is captivated by the beauty & musical skills of the young queen, Weatlhow (Robin Wright Penn). Beowulf has no idea that he is going to meet & be seduced by a pretty demon which he cannot kill.
The nimble Beowulf (Ray Winstone) & his troop’s merry cheers attract the hideous monster; Grendell & Beowulf manages to fatally wound it. In retaliation, Grendell’s mother (Angelina Jolie) kills & hangs Beowulf’s remaining soldiers upside down in the great hall while he is asleep & spares him for a personal reason. Now is the point, as we have seen the trailer, where Beowulf confronts the mother of Grendell. I reckon she wants more than to see the killer of her son, Beowulf to purposefully have him track her to her lair in the Beowulf movie.
Beowulf is seduced by the promise of riches & power from Grendell’s mother (Angelina Jolie). It is a scene not to be missed by fans of Angelina Jolie. A long as the gold dragon horn stays with her, Beowulf would be the most powerful & strongest king. Beowulf is helpless, unable to kill her & instead probably had sexual intercourse with the demon being in the Beowulf movie. Beowulf is surprised to know that his rise to Kingship is to be so fast. He did not think that it would like so as how the coming incidents would make it.
King Hrothgar kills himself probably because he feels guilty of losing his bastard monster son, Grandell & its demon mother too. Before you know it; Beowulf has aged & has grey hair. You can expect the Beowulf movie to be similar or better than the only other full CGI movie I know, Final Fantasy: Spirits Within (2001). The gold dragon horn mysteriously finds its way to Beowulf & he questions the incident as a sign that his reign as the invincible king is over. The sentence, “Sins of the father” haunts Beowulf & it is probably his bastard demon son that is causing havoc in his kingdom, ready to take over Beowulf’s throne & his Kingdom.
The most impressive CGI (Computer generated imagery) work in the Beowulf movie is the Dragon. In the stupendous battle against the Dragon, Beowulf almost has his bottom on a stake. In a ferocious battle against the dragon, who is actually his son, Beowulf even has to severe his own arm in order to kill it. It is obvious that his monster son, the Dragon demon does not want to kill him because he is intent on trying to kill the queen & Beowulf’s young lover. It is as though his son expresses his frustrations that his father, Beowulf resents his demon mother & himself. Too bad the particular aspect of the movie is not dramatized in the Beowulf movie.
Beowulf meets his ultimate adversary when fighting his own demon son, the Dragon demon & dies after killing his own monster son. Beowulf’s best friend appears to be the new king. Grendall’s mother (Angelina Jolie) comes to Beowulf’s funeral & meets the new king in her usual seductive pose. She is probably intent on having an offspring with every new king it would seem. The Beowulf movie is to be continued. The Beowulf movie is like playing a video game, fight this fight that, do this, do that, & clusters of stories in between to make sense of your play.
