If you are easily offended, I highly recommend you see something else. If not, I highly recommend the opposite. I had a few rather optimistic expectations for this movie; and I am happy to say that it did not disappoint in any way whatsoever.
The movie was incredibly funny although extremely both politically incorrect and offensive at the same time, and I found myself saying “why am I laughing?” during several parts of the movie. I mean, this is perhaps the only time you’ll ever see Robert Downey Jr. in black face!
The movie pokes fun at Hollywood blockbusters, comedies, and highly acclaimed films. Not to mention the actors starring in them (Ben Stiller-blockbuster, Jack Black-comedies, Robert Downey Jr.-the highly acclaimed films). I could not help but laugh at the small parodies they had in the film, some of which were some of my favorite war movies of all time, such as Saving Private Ryan. Although there were times in the film that were a bit slow, it really is not much of a problem because you want to know what’s going to happen next.
There were a few things I was certainly not expecting and one or two twists that were unanticipated as well. The cameos were brilliant, and I won’t say who appears, although it is pretty obvious. If you want to have some fun, go see this movie chances are you’ll walk out very satisfied. Be warned though, dot not, I repeat do not bring your children.
