Hannah Montana Movie Review

After long anticipation and periods of excitement from the fans, the Hannah Montana movie was finally released today in all theatres across USA and Canada! UK, Europe and the rest of the world releases are to come either later this month or next month at the latest.

Myself, together with other parents who bought tickets in advance for the second screening of the day at 12:30 walked straight to the ticket controllers and on the way to the screen number 1! The Hannah Montana movie stars Miley Cyrus as Miley Stewart (last name presumably changed so the young audience don’t mistake her life in the movie with her real life – and same with Miley’s father Billy Ray; name changed from Billy Ray Cyrus to Billy Ray Stewart in the Hannah Montana movie). There is also the rest of the cast from the original tv series on the Disney Channel that is currently in season 3. No one knows whether there will be a season 4 but Miley Cyrus did say that she would like to carry on starring in her debut series!

In this Hannah Montana movie, Miley Stewart (Miley Cyrus) is just an average school girl, by day and an awesome blonde wigged rock star by night, performing in the coolest concerts across the country. Billy Ray Stewart (Billy Ray Cyrus) is her manager by night and doesn’t do a very good job at hiding his actual relationship with Hannah Montana. With the press on their shoulder to find out the true identity of Hannah, this makes little sense – typical of Disney.

The other celebrity that actually appears as herself is Tyra Banks. From the point Miley and Tyra get into a public shoe fight in a store, and she unwillingly ruins Lili’s (Emily Osment) 16th birthday party, the attitude of the Hannah Montana film changes.

Billy Ray Stewart decides that it’s time for Miley Cyrus to take a look at the simple country life back to Tennessee where she was born. One bit of trivia is that Taylor Swift who appears on the movie’s soundtrack actually lives in Tennessee not far from where the Hannah Montana movie was filmed!

As you can see in the Hannah Montana movie trailer most of the action happens in this magical place where everything is so different from the big city! Miley has more time for herself and can give up the blonde wig (for now at least) but it still doesn’t save her from getting into trouble or doing silly things!

In conclusion, if you are a Hannah Montana fan or if your kids are fans, then this movie is definitely worth seeing in cinema and perhaps buying a DVD when it comes out. The Hannah Montana movie was not made in a way that would easily permit a real sequel that can make sense so perhaps this is the first and last movie for all fans!
