Glee – A TV Show Review

Glee was named as one of the fall seasons most anticipated shows. It was previewed back in May and was said to be a phenomenon. Is it living up to the hype?

I am officially a gleek. The first episode of Glee was really cute and the music was fantastic. I think the show has really hit its stride and it has become one of my must-see TV shows every week.

If you have not watched Glee as of yet, here’s a recap. Glee follows a Spanish teacher, Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison), who wants to restart glee club again in the school he works at. He tries to recruit people and ends up with six people, who come from very different backgrounds. No one really believes in the Glee club and will do anything to shut it down, especially cheerleading coach, Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch). At the core of the glee club are Finn (Cory Monteith) and Rachel (Lea Michele), who in the first episode perform an awesome rendition of “Don’t Stop Believin”. Rachel likes Finn, but he is dating the head of the Cheerios cheerleading squad, Quinn. Quinn and two of her fellow Cheerios, along with a few football players, also join the glee club. Quinn uses it as a way to spy on Finn and also to spy for Sue as well. The show involves a lot of love triangles and also deals with Quinn’s surprise pregnancy as well as Will’s wife faking a pregnancy.

The show is so fresh and funny. The cast is amazing. There is such a wide array of characters that you can’t help, but love them all. Jane Lynch is especially hilarious as Sue. The rivalry between Sue and Will definitely brings big laughs. Also, the music is awesome and definitely should be checked out or downloaded on iTunes.
