Angels and Demons is a magnificent thrill ride from start to finish. Just when you think you have it all figured out this movie throws you another twist after twist. Directed by Ron Howard “Angels and Demons”, brings Tom Hanks back to reprise his Role as Robert Langdon, which was his character in “Davinci Code”. Tom Hanks as usual delivers an outstanding performance proving once again why he is one of the top leading men in Hollywood. The plot makes sense. Someone is killing Cardinals of the Vatican City and it’s up to Robert to solve the mystery. An ancient group called the “Illuminati” is claiming responsibility for the crimes. This group was also a long time enemy of the Catholic Church. The plot thickens when the Illuminati steal a bomb that can wipe out all of the Vatican City including Rome. The race is on for Robert to follow each and every clue with the help of Ewan McGregor, who plays a Priest at the Vatican City, a female scientist played by Ayelet Zurer and the Vatican Police Commander played by Stellan Skarsgard.
The cast is wonderful under the direction of Ron Howard. Each delivers a stellar performance that keeps you on the edge of your seat. The cinematography of the locations in the Vatican City are beautiful. The ancient buildings and beautiful statues really do remind us of the Vatican City of ancient times. History jumps out at every turn. Piece by piece Robert puts the puzzle together. He finds that everything is not always what it seems and that some people even holy ones are not what they seem.
Angels and Demons is currently on DVD. Everyone should see this movie. If you enjoy a good mystery this is definitely for you. This is definitely one movie you will want to add to your DVD collection.
