Rating: 7.05 (good portrayal of ups of downs of a rock and roller, very funny, very gross and verbally aggressive at points but tastefully done).

Review: My movie watching life every so often throws a subtle twist unexpectedly, as the thought initially was going to be some funny feel good movie, however, it ends up giving you a very different taste of enjoyment of how really settled our own lives are compared to a roc and roll guru. It is a movie of a record label newbie being put in charge to go to London and get his rock and roll idol to do a 10 year return gig at Los Angeles Greek theatre, but the rock and roller played by Russell Brand, was quite a refreshing character of freeform fun and take the experiences of friendship and superficial behavior and lets the audience see the true trial and tribulations of a rock and roller and what is expected of them from our society.

Jonah Hill plays the newbie record company rep who is little by little brought into the circle of anything goes in a rock and roll legends very personal life behind the doors and the late flights to the boozed up parties to the breaking up of the hotel rooms to the broken down family ties of the rock and rock legends. The actual story was quite refreshing way to put it across in a funny and free kind of spirit the movie brings out the best and worst from both extremes the hazards of their life and the things people are forced to do to keep the “stars” life ongoing. The balance act was gracefully done to control and make sure the “rock stars” craziness always made sure that he ends up at the gig. The lost loves portrayed and relationships it was all packed into a feel good friendship and life´s lessons all rapped into some great tunes and a great soundtrack just jamming, I even got some triple tier laugh sessions with all out laughter bursts even though my humor usually stayed quite controlled the unexpected twists of the movie shows the talent of the actors and the directing staff. Overall Good movie for your dollar….a Thumbs Up in my mind.
