Vice and A&E Networks announce new TV network, ViceLand

In a joint venture, Vice Media and A&E Networks announced the launch of ViceLand, a new 24-hour channel programmed and produced exclusively by Vice.

A&E Networks, which is owned by Hearst and the Walt Disney Company will turn over their History Channel spinoff, H2 to Vice.

ViceLand will complete Vice’s mobile, digital, and TV “trinity.” The new channel, which is projected to reach 70 million homes launches in early 2016, the company said.

Vice plans to fill its new channel with lifestyle and entertainment programming, including shows about music, sports, fashion, food, and more. Oscar-winning writer and director Spike Jonze has been overseeing the production and creative direction of the new channel.
